I love animals, flowers, and nature and I try to express this through my greeting cards. All of my cards start out with a basic idea that I first sketch out in pencil. Believe me, there are always plenty of erasing and fiddling around before I get my sketch just the way I want it. I like to add lovely details like flowers, birds, butterflies, moths, and even little fairies to each card to make them more interesting and attractive. You may notice that every card has a signature butterfly or moth in it!
Once I’m satisfied with how the sketch looks, I transfer the design to Bristol Board for painting, and now the fun really begins. I usually start out by painting the sky or background in and then carefully fill in the rest. I use acrylic paints for my cards and like the way the colors are bright and clear. Painting these cards is something that I really enjoy, and it usually takes me at least three weeks (sometimes more) to make each card. I consider them to be small works of art.
I have left the cards blank so that you can fill in a message yourself. Surely someone you know and care about would love to get one of these cards – what a pleasant surprise to receive one of them in the mail, and you might want to keep some of them for yourself, too. And by the way, all my cards are printed by local printers in the US, too. Each 5″ by 7″ card is printed on 100-pound cardstock and comes with an envelope and clear protective sleeve. The cards are sent in rigid mailers to ensure that they get to you in perfect condition.
